This Policy is designed to promote transparency and support compliance with applicable Ethiopian legal, tax, telecommunications, innovation, and commercial regulatory requirements, including directives and obligations that may be issued by relevant public authorities.

4. Payment Data Disclaimer

Pia Nexus does not process, receive, or store sensitive payment credentials such as full credit card numbers, CVV codes, card PINs, Telebirr PINs, or equivalent secret financial authentication data.

All payment credentials are entered directly into and securely processed by authorized third-party payment gateways and operators, including: Pia Nexus may receive only limited transaction confirmations or settlement metadata necessary for billing reconciliation, fraud prevention, invoicing, and accounting.

5. How We Use Data

Collected data is used strictly for legitimate operational purposes, including:

  1. provisioning software accounts, subscriptions, and API access;
  2. authenticating users and administering accounts;
  3. generating invoices and maintaining billing records;
  4. API logging and operational diagnostics;

To comply with applicable Ethiopian tax administration requirements, VAT obligations, anti-fraud controls, and lawful reporting duties, Pia Nexus may systematically collect, record, and disclose transaction-related information to the Ethiopian Ministry of Revenues (MoR) or any lawful successor authority.

Such disclosures may include, where required by law or regulatory process:

  • Buyer Name;
  • Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN);
  • invoice number;
  • payment amount;
  • VAT amount;
  • transaction date;
  • service description; and
  • related accounting references.

Where mandated, such reporting may occur automatically, periodically, or through integrated tax reporting systems.

Users acknowledge that statutory reporting obligations may override requests for confidentiality where disclosure is legally required.

7. Cookies, Session Tokens, and Infrastructure Tracking

Pia Nexus uses limited cookies and similar technologies primarily for technical and security purposes.

These may include:

  • session tokens for login continuity and authentication;
  • security cookies for fraud prevention;
  • rate-limit identifiers to prevent API abuse;

Subject to applicable law, users may request access, correction, or updates to inaccurate account data by contacting Pia Nexus.

Certain records may be retained where deletion is not permitted due to tax, fraud-prevention, audit, invoicing, or legal obligations.
